Newcomer Dinner
All who are making TVCOG their home church that have not attended one of our newcomer welcome meals are invited to come to dinner at 6:00pm TONIGHT. All of the food will be provided. The staff and ministry directors will be present to share more about the ministries of the church and to become better acquainted with you. Please RSVP for the dinner by marking the back of your blue card.
Memorial Weekend Picnic
Join us at 12:30 NEXT Sunday, (May 27th) after the second service for a picnic on Teays Valley Acres. Bring two dishes to share or a dish and some drinks. The church will provide the meat and paper products. Bring a lawn chair and lawn games. It will be a great time of fellowship.

Easy Outreach Opportunity
Pastor Melissa’s voice class will join Jill Turner’s piano students in a one hour recital on Thursday, May 31st at 7:00 pm here at the church. We need volunteers to provide cookies for a reception. The students would love added support and it would be another great outreach of the church for you to show up, clap and meet more folks in the community who may need a church home!
Baptism
We will be observing baptism as part of our “Voices of Praise” Spring concert on Sunday night, June 3rd. If you are interested in being baptized, please mark the back of your blue card.
Graduate Sunday
All high school, college and post college grads will be honored in our second service on Sunday, June 10th. If you plan to participate, please indicate it on your blue card or email Beverly at tvcogsecretary@comcast.net to let her know the correct spelling of your name, what school you are graduating from and what degree you are obtaining.
Father’s Day Event at the Ball Residence
All are invited to join us for a special celebration of Father’s Day at Tim & Michele Ball’s home. Meet at the church at 4:30pm to car pool to their home at 449 Coon Creek , Culloden. Directions will also be available on the Welcome Center. Bring your favorite wings or appetizer and a 2-liter.
Teays Valley Acres Upgrade Update
We continue to make improvements as funds are available at Teays Valley Acres. We are completing the concession/restroom building and are upgrading the door on the storage building. Electric is also being run to the out buildings and a porch, handrails and a ramp are being added to the restroom facility. Thanks to the Gobels and friends of theirs for overseeing this!
Lay Pastor/Hospital and Home Visitation Training
We are looking for some caring people who will assist us with the growing need we have for persons to visit hospitals and shut ins. We are hosting a training on Saturday, June 16th from 10:00am to 11:30pm to equip you. Dr. Gary Patton will be our facilitator. If you are willing to make one visit a week or every other week and can attend this training, please indicate it on your blue card.
Young at Heart – 55 and older
Join us for our monthly luncheon for all who are Young at Heart. It will be held at the church at noon on Wednesday, June 20th. Please bring a covered dish and a 2-liter to share.
Barbershop Quartet
A Barbershop Quartet, “Uncle Ernie’s Boys,” will be featured at Teays Valley Church of God on Saturday, June 23rd at 6:30 p.m. with dessert to follow. This event is for seniors, 55 and older, and is free. Please bring a dessert to share after the short concert.
Special Needs Care Giver Support Group
Do you have a special needs child or family member? Come join us as we offer support and share information. Parents and Friends of Special Needs Children & Adults support group next meeting is Tuesday, June 19 at 7:00pm in room 203. Come meet with others in similar situations! Ladies Night Out
All ladies please join us for Ladies’ Night Out on June 21st at 6:00pm for dinner at The Gallery in Hurricane. A zany style show will be presented for your entertainment.
Christian Women’s Connection
All ladies are invited to attend the Christian Women’s Connection meeting here on Tuesday, June 5th at 7:00pm. See Helen Woods for details.
Zumba comes to TVCOG!
Jessica Spencer will be teaching Zumba on Monday nights at 7:00pm starting June 4th. The cost will just be $1.00. Space is limited so register by emailing or calling the church office.
Ladies’ Fitness Class
Get ready for summer! All ladies are invited to join us for fun, fast-paced fitness class on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. You can join in the class anytime in the first hour and leave anytime in the second hour! The cost is only $1.00 or 1 can of food for the Community Cupboard food pantry.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY NEWS
Children’s Ministry Luau
All preschool and elementary students are invited to our annual Teays Valley Church of God Luau on May 30th at 6:45pm! Come dressed Hawaiian style and join the fun with Island style games, food, and prizes!
Children’s Ministry Singing Opportunities
The preschoolers will be singing at the second service on May 27th. Also, the elementary and preschool students will be singing at the “Voices of Praise” Spring Concert on June 3rd at 6:00pm. CD’s are available for each age group in their classrooms. Please keep practicing the two songs in the car and at home.
VBS-Adventures on Promise Island
Your kids won’t want to miss this exciting adventure! Get them ready today! VBS will take place July 9th-13th, 6:30pm-8:30pm at the church for all ages! Information about VBS can be found at www.vacationbibleschool.com/teaysvalleycog! You may preregister, sign up to volunteer, and look for needed supplies! All students pre-registered will be receive a prize and be entered to win a grand prize!! Make sure you preregister. Registration forms are also available in the Children’s Ministry information box in the church lobby.
Camp SonShine
Camp SonShine is West Virginia’s Church of God state children’s camp. This year it takes place July 22nd-25th at Rippling Waters Campground. The theme for this year’s camp is “Amazing Race”! This is for all upcoming third- sixth graders. The cost of the camp is $90-Scholarships are available. Registration forms are available at www.tvcog.org/ministries/children/forms-registrations or in the Children’s Ministry box in the lobby. Deadline to sign up for camp is June 24th.

“Club 56″ – Attention 5th Grade Parents
All current 5th and 6th grade students are invited to attend a mixer set to get our upcoming children’s ministry graduates acquainted with our current 6th grade students on Saturday, June 2nd. The event is 2-4pm in ‘The Garage’ and is a no-cost event!
Middle School Summer Trip
On June 14th-15th our middle-schoolers will be headed to Cincinnati for the Creation Museum. We will be staying overnight at Dayspring Church of God. The cost for the trip is $50. Registration and monies are due to Pastor Jonathan by June 6th. You may register by signing up at the ‘Yooth Booth.’
IYC July 3rd-7th
Everyone is registered and we are ready to begin our adventure on Tuesday, July 3rd at 12pm when we meet at the church! We invite you to pray for the youth who will be attending this potentially life-changing event, not only for our own youth but for all attendees.
