Our Worship Life

“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.” Psalm 150:6

Worship is our way of life because it involves honoring the Lord in every area of our life every day.  Our corporate worship service is focused on experiencing the presence of God and responding to Him in faithful obedience.  There is a strong emphasis on Scripture and intercessory prayer.

We employ a variety of musical styles and utilize both hymns and choruses.  In addition, we use artistic expressions such as drama, worship dance, banners, and other visual arts.  Our Voices of Praise Choir, Worship Team, and Praise Band help us offer our praise unto the Lord.

Worship Team

The worship team of TVCOG exists to provide spiritual, musical, and logistical support for the leading of worship in the church.

The group is scheduled in rotation and is available for other opportunities as requested.  The team rehearses weekly on Wednesday nights after church and again on Sunday mornings before services.  Members must profess a personal relationship with Christ, seek to live out that profession through a holy life according to God’s Word, and be available for scheduled rehearsals.

In addition, they must demonstrate an attitude and lifestyle of worship as it is their role not only to sing, but to lead others in the worship of our Lord.  Members must possess a certain level of musical skill and music reading ability.

Praise Band and Orchestra

Our praise band and orchestra makeup the instrumental group which supports our weekly worship experience.  We practice on Wednesday evenings after church and again on Sunday mornings before church.

Persons in the band need to profess a personal relationship with Christ, seek to live out that profession through a holy life according to God’s Word, and possess an intermediate level of skill on their instrument.

Choir

The Voices of Praise choir is a seasonal sanctuary choir comprised of members ages 6th grade and up.  We focus on worshiping God and loving one another above singing.  To be a member of the choir you simply have to profess a personal relationship with Christ, seek to live out that profession through a holy life according to God’s Word, and possess a joyful heart.

Worship Dance and Flags

Central to our relationship and closeness with God is our understanding and practice of worship.  God’s Word instructs us to serve Him with our whole being.

This is not only done through Bible reading, prayer, songs, and offerings, but also through body language.  Worship dance is one way we can visually show Jesus how much we love Him.

Members must profess a personal relationship with Christ, seek to live out that profession through a holy life according to God’s Word, and be available for scheduled rehearsals.  Some dances may call for an intermediate skill level.  Proper and modest attire is required at all rehearsals and for all services where worship dance offerings will take place.
