Children

At Super Star Children’s Ministry we love kids! We love to see their relationship with God develop. We love to see the smile on their face when they truly get that God loves them! We love to see them draw closer to their families and to each other! We love to see them have fun!

Children Worship Opportunities

During First Service, 9 a.m., on Sunday Mornings, elementary students have a large group/small group learning opportunity.  The students spend thirty minutes with Pastor Wendy with music and praise, and then, transition to a more traditional Sunday school setting.  Preschool and Nursery Children’s Church is also provided.

During Second Service, 10:45 a.m., on Sunday Mornings, elementary students experience a traditional children’s church time with music, story, activity, and games.  Preschool and Nursery Children’s Church is also provided.

Wednesday Nights offers an opportunity for preschool and elementary students to experience Bible learning in a relaxed environment.  The students experience games and activities with a Bible Focus!

Weekly Offering

Super Star Children’s Ministry takes a weekly offering in the Sunday Morning and Wednesday Night services. This money is used for various ministries throughout the year. We feel that students’ offering should be their contribution so we encourage parents to provide opportunities for their students to earn money.

Children Praying

We believe Children’s prayers are important. In both, Sunday morning and Wednesday night services, we provide opportunities for students to tell us their prayer requests and pray for those requests.

Singing Opportunities

It is important for children to learn to worship God at an early age; we encourage our kids to worship God through song by providing a monthly singing opportunity for the preschool and elementary students.  We also have an annual Christmas musical for elementary students.

Communion

On the first Sunday of the month, Shining Star Children’s Ministry (the elementary kids) has a special communion service. Receiving the communion elements is an inclusive act for the Body of Christ. This monthly time is an opportunity for students to hear the salvation message and make the choice to live for Christ. If you prefer your child not receive the communion elements, simply let a Super Star Volunteer know.

Special Events

Super Star Children’s Ministry hosts several special events throughout the year; including the Easter egg hunt, children’s camp, Wednesday with Wendy, VBS, Family Fun Day, and Trunk or Treat, to name a few!

Security Check-In/Check-Out

Nursery/Preschool

• Check in at the classroom door and  fill out a numbered tag, place the nametag on the child’s back and keep the stub.

• Fill out the information on the check in sheet.

• Check out a the classroom door by presenting the stub matching your child.

Elementary

• Check in at the classroom door.

• Fill out the information on the check in sheet.

Helpful things that we request

• Please take your child to the restroom before checking them into their classroom.

• Bibles– Yes!  Toys– NO!

• We ask that you remain at Teays Valley Church of God property after checking your child into their classroom.  If it is necessary for you to leave, please let a volunteer know.

• Only adults age 18 years or older may pick up a child from the children’s ministry area.

• Ask your child about what they learned. They will be excited to tell you!
