Preschool Singing Opportunity
All preschoolers (Ages 3-5) are invited to sing during the morning worship service on February 26th, 2012. The preschoolers will practice during Sunday morning and Wednesday night children’s church, but as with everything the best practice happens at home. CD’s and Lyrics are available in the preschool room.
Children’s Ministry 2012 Registration
We are asking that all parents fill out a new registration form for each child birth-5th grade. This will update our records with correct contact information, allergies, birthdays, and other special needs. Also, this includes a permission slip form that will cover all of 2012. Registration forms are located at classroom welcome desks and the children’s ministry folder in the entrance way.
Boys’ Night Out – THIS FRIDAY
All elementary aged boys are invited to a night out at the church FRIDAY at 6:30pm-9:00 pm. There will be indoor and outdoor games planned for the event, as well as, Wii and XBox Konnect. Boys need to bring either a snack or drink. Pizza will be provided.
“I have Jesus in my HEART” Valentine’s Party
Come join the fun! All children, 3 yrs-5th grade are invited to a Valentine’s celebration at the church! The party starts at 5:30pm and ends at 7:30pm! Please RSVP to Pastor Wendy by Wednesday, Feb 8th.
Come celebrate the LEAP YEAR!
Wednesday, February 29th at 6:45pm the elementary children’s programming will have a special leap year party! Where we will LEAP F.R.O.G. (Fully Rely On God) for God! Start inviting friends to this fun party!
“Hands On Bible” Purchasing Opportunity
Children’s Ministry is ordering classroom Bibles at a bulk rate and would like to offer the price to families if they would like to purchase a Bible for their elementary child. The “Hands On Bible” is normally $24.99 but will cost $15.00. Scholarships are available. Please mark your blue card if interested in purchasing a Bible.
Wendy Watts
Howdy! I am Pastor Wendy Watts and very excited to be part of Teays Valley Church of God. I was raised in Morganton, North Carolina which is in the foothills. I attended church with my grandmother as a little girl and LOVED it! When I was in the fifth grade my mom desired that I attend church with her and thus my journey with the Church of God began.
During my high school years I was very involved with my local and state youth groups. I attended conferences, camps, conventions, etc. It was through these experiences that I realized God was calling me into a full-time ministry in His service.
Upon graduation from High School I embarked on a journey and headed to Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, Florida. Go Royals! The four years spent at Warner include some of my most favorite times and experiences. When I graduated from Warner I felt God was calling me to more preparation, so I headed to Anderson University to School of Theology.
During each of my school experiences, I volunteered and interned with children’s ministry programs. I have spent time preparing for ministry in my home church, Morganton First Church of God, Riverchase Community Church in Birmingham, Al; Church in the Gardens in Palm Beach, Florida; South Lake Wales Church of God in Lake Wales, Florida; and the last four years have spent with Madison Park Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. It has been a great journey of preparation but I am excited for the future and what God has in store for my life and ministry here at Teays Valley Church of God.
